Colour advice
Choosing colours with confidence.
Perth light is bright and changes a colour more than people expect. A few simple rules, three sample schemes, and an offer to help you choose on site.
Room schemes
Three ways to use colour
Drawn samples to show the idea, not paint matches.
Calm coastal
Soft limestone walls, a river-blue feature wall and crisp white trims. Suits west-facing rooms that get strong afternoon light.
Warm and earthy
Olive on one wall, warm white elsewhere and timber floors. Works well with natural light and indoor plants.
Bright and bold
A coral feature in a white room, with charcoal doors. Lively in a kid's room or a home office.
Five simple rules
- Test large. Paint an A3 sample card, not a tiny chip.
- Look at it all day. Morning and afternoon light change it a lot.
- Go a shade lighter than you think for big walls.
- Check the floor and benchtops next to the sample.
- One feature wall is usually enough.
