What your dashboard is telling you.

Amber usually means book in soon. Red usually means stop safely now. Your owner's manual has the exact meaning for your car.

Check engine

The engine computer has stored a fault. Book a diagnostic soon; if it flashes, stop driving.

Low oil pressure. Pull over safely and turn the engine off.

The charging system has a problem. The car may stop when the battery runs flat.

Check the handbrake. If it stays on, brake fluid may be low: have it checked now.

The engine is overheating. Stop safely and let it cool before checking anything.

One or more tyres are low. Check pressures when the tyres are cold.
