What is safety glass?
Ordinary glass breaks into sharp shards. Safety glass is made to break in a safer way. There are two main kinds.
Toughened glass
Heat-treated so it's much stronger, and if it does break, it shatters into small blunt pieces.
Laminated glass
Two layers bonded together. It cracks but stays in the frame, which also helps with security and noise.
